Welcome to Aldergrove!
Named after the thriving population of alder trees in the area, Aldergrove is situated in the fertile Fraser Valley near Abbotsford, where mild temperatures and prime soil conditions produce agricultural wonders like mouth-watering raspberries and luscious strawberries. Known for a variety of enticing crops and flourishing farm fields, the area celebrates its agricultural and cultural successes at the annual Aldergrove Fair Days. Located approximately 59 km (37 mi) from Vancouver, this border-town is adjacent to Lynden, Washington. The first customs office was built in 1889 and stands to this day as an historic monument in the community. A pivotal player in the Township of Langley, Aldergrove is home to the Greater Vancouver Zoo, which boasts more than 800 animals hailing from around the world. With 49 ha (120 acres) of land, the zoo has many notable attractions, including daily tiger and lion feedings, as well as bus tours of the North American Wilds enclosure.
